Somerset Recruitment Experts
Whether you are an employer looking to fill a vacancy (even at short notice), or you need help finding a job, we work tirelessly to represent you.
We have offices in Taunton, Chard and Yeovil and work across multiple markets: Industrial, Commercial, Legal, Care, Hospitality, IT and Engineering.
Our local, specialist divisions and long-standing presence is why we are Somerset’s most recommended recruitment agency.
Below you’ll find the types of positions we recruit for; we have a range of roles available from full-time, permanent positions through to temporary or part-time work.
We’re adapting our service to better reflect advice we have been given from our industry bodies, the Government, and our communities regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.
Job Seekers and Candidates – we will not be taking walk-in enquiries at any of our three branches in Taunton, Chard or Yeovil – all registrations will be done remotely
Clients and Employers – our service remains fully open and we are able to provide staff across all of our specialisms – however, we will be asking all clients about their specific COVID plans of action, how they are approaching this unique situation, and will provide a diligent service that suits your needs.
For any questions on the above, please speak to your local recruiter.
Stay safe, look after your loved ones, and if in doubt take necessary precautions to self-isolate.

Our applicants should know that we will understand your skills and desires and we will work hard to provide you with relevant opportunities to best match your requirements. We have a huge selection of different roles, so we can pretty much guarantee your perfect job is waiting for you through One Step.

How long does it usually take to find a new role?
It depends on where you are looking. A lot of people apply online, but we recommend applying through our website. This gives you access to the most relevant jobs and allows us to match you with the right person for the role. Our talented team can tailor your ideal role based on your previous experience. We can also provide you with feedback on your CV and help you prepare for interviews.
Once we have found the right role for you, it usually takes around two weeks to get an offer of employment. However, this can vary depending on the company and the role. We will always keep you informed throughout the process and make sure that you are happy with any offers that come through.
Can you help me out at short notice?
If you need a super urgent and temporary job, we offer cover for a day of sickness roles, which can even be realised on the same day if needed. To make sure short notice work remains available, we have 24-hour availability. If our offices are closed, your call doesn’t sit on an answerphone until the next working day. It will go to the on-call consultant with a remote desktop.
This means we can take a booking or fill roles in times of sickness, over holiday periods or weekends. Our 24-hour on call phone is also an important factor for applicants for out of office conversations, guaranteeing privacy and an effective consultancy away from office hours.
What type of work can you offer me?
We have a variety of sectors that we recruit into, all ranging to fill permanent and temporary vacancies across all levels, from senior management to cover for a day of sickness. The sectors/role categories are:
