Wendy came to One Step Recruitment at the end of 2017 following redundancy and was looking to start work as soon as possible.

Wendy met with Ellie, a Recruitment Consultant in our Commercial department (typically dealing with office-based roles). Shortly afterwards, Ellie contacted local employers about a bank of new applicants registered with One Step Recruitment, Wendy included. Having first met with Wendy (and all the other applicants), Ellie was able to articulate what each applicant was looking for and to detail their relevant experience for each business. A CV alone cannot express this.

A local employer contacted Ellie the next day; needing to move fast they agreed terms of business by phone and set a date for Wendy’s interview. The day before the interview, Ellie visited the client to go through the role in more detail and found out the struggles the employer had had finding the right candidate. Ellie was then able to brief Wendy ahead of her interview, including details of the training she could expect to receive.

Wendy attended her interview and was offered the position the very same day, so has been able to enjoy a relaxing Christmas and NY break – something she didn’t think possible when she learned of her redundancy.

Full credit to Wendy who didn’t await her fate, she embraced the opportunity that redundancy threw at her. Wendy started her new role in January and she is settling in really well.
