Congratulations to Sheila Duck for winning One Step’s Team Player of the month Award.
Yasmin our Yeovil based Commercial Consultant wanted to award Sheila as a result of her fantastic enthusiasm and willingness for any placement and last minute temporary cover shifts we offer. -Without fail we receive glowing feedback from our clients.

Tansy our Event Manager for the Somerset Skills & Careers Fair 2016, wanted to thank all the OSR staff for all their help on the 12th October.
As this was Tansy's first year organising the event, she told our MD Nick “I was blown away by the enthusiasm, energy and professionalism from the team. The event is a long 12 hour day and everyone made sure the exhibitors and visitors were happy before they took their own breaks and dealt with their own needs."
So, what better way to say thank you than get a huge stack of surprise Domino's pizza (yes, we got all the sides too!) delivered to our 3 branches.
Thanks team x... Read More
Friday night Nick and Sam O'Brien invited James, Tansy, Steve & Sam G, along with their partners to join them for an evening at the Somerset Business Awards 2016.
We were in the final 3 for the Skills for Growth category, a cause and category that we were thrilled to have simply been nominated for after years of us building our voice, trust and relationship with the local community via School workshops, through to adults facing redundancy and of course our annual Somerset Skills & Careers Fair 2016, all on top of our “day jobs”.
After a 3 course dinner, a few drinkies and the short video…the words…”And the winner is…..One Step Recruitment LTD” A moment of pure shock and only the recollection of uproar and applause around the room and our table (you can all imagine Steve,) whilst Tansy and I make our way to the stage to collect the award, say our thank you and pose for the press "my favourite bit" advised Sam G our Marketing Coordinator.
One person we missed out of the speech and I know this man doesn’t like a shout out, but I want to DING Mr Mock for being such a fab boss, we can all talk to him, he listens to us and gets stuck in. In the well-known words of Richard Branson “If you take care of your workers, they’ll take of your business” which I believe is fitting.
To close, I thought we would use our MD’s own words as a shout out to all of us... “The Somerset Skills for Growth Award 2016 is now sitting in One Step Recruitment's head office. A massive well done to all our staff who have contributed to what is a massive honour and a privilege to win such a prestigious award. Thank you all.”

Earlier this year we entered the Somerset Business Awards in the Skills for Growth category.
Following a visit from the SBA judge to the One Step Recruitment / Foundation Headquarters in Taunton, we have just found out we have made it to the final 3!
This recognises our work not only with our own staff in terms of development and training but also our work within the local community, schools and our annual Careers Fair.
The next step is a visit from a film crew to compose a short film which will be played at the Black tie awards evening on the 21st October where we will find out if we have WON!
Fingers crossed and we shall keep you all posted... Read More
